Conditions We Treat

At Pain Free Clinic we treat…well…pain. The question is, what can we do for your particular pain? Acupuncture is a great remedy for a wide variety of aches and discomforts. If you tried rock climbing for the first time last night and twisted your shoulder, we can help it get straightened out. If you’ve got a bit of arthritis in your knee and it’s been hurting every day for a while, we can help you to manage that pain. We can help ease the frequency and severity of migraines. If you’re taking medications to manage chronic pain, but find that you still have lingering discomfort, we can help reduce it. And on, and on. If something is hurting, there’s a good chance we can help.

Pain Free Clinic recognizes, also, that there is no pain without stress and, often, there is no stress without pain. Acupuncture is great for reducing stress. If your stress is causing insomnia, we can help you get to sleep. If your stress causes stomach pain, constipation, or diarrhea, we can sort those out too. Our treatments will make the load you carry feel lighter, even if we can’t actually do anything to lighten it.

This description, of course, leaves out a lot. If you have questions about what treatment for what’s going on in your body would look like, feel free to call or write.

Our practitioners are trained in a wide range of acupuncture techniques and, so, are primed to fine tune treatments to your individual ailment. Trigger point needling is great for strains or nerve entrapments, for example. (If you’ve heard of dry needling, by the way, it’s exactly the same thing as trigger point needling.) If your pain is more about your stressful lifestyle, traditional Chinese meridians will be helpful. Scalp acupuncture is great for neurological imbalances. And if something hurts right now and you need relief right away, most likely at least a part of your treatment will come from the lineage of a teacher named Master Tung, who was really good at that sort of thing.

In addition to acupuncture, we offer cupping, shiatsu, tui na, positional release, muscle energy techniques, gua sha (which is the same thing as Graston Technique, if you’ve heard of that), heat therapy, and herbal consultations. You are free to book an appointment for any of those as solo treatments. Most often, though, treatment in our clinic will include more than one modality, based on what your practitioner thinks will best treat your condition. And, in case you’re wondering, our rate is always flat, even if we throw the whole Chinese medical text book
